BELECTRIC celebrates 1 GW of installed solar capacity in Germany and 5 GW worldwide

BELECTRIC, a member of the Elevion Group, is celebrating two milestones with the commissioning of a solar park and a battery storage system. The solar energy specialist is one of the first companies to break the one gigawatt (GW) mark for installed photovoltaic capacity in Germany. Since its foundation in 2001, BELECTRIC has already installed systems with a total output of more than five gigawatts worldwide.

With the commissioning of a solar park in Germany and a battery storage system in the UK, BELECTRIC has reached two important milestones. With almost 520 systems built worldwide, the photovoltaic expert has cracked the mark of five gigawatts of installed capacity. In its home market of Germany, BELECTRIC was one of the first companies to install solar systems with a total output of more than one gigawatt. This corresponds to a total area of around 1,400 football pitches with today's technology or roughly the output of the largest conventional large-scale power plants. Since its foundation 23 years ago, BELECTRIC has been making a clear contribution to the energy transition - including with one of the largest independent solar power plants in Germany. The Tramm-Göthen solar park measures 172 megawatts peak and has been converting sunlight into electricity since the end of 2021.

The outlook for the current and coming year also confirms BELECTRIC as a reliable and experienced partner: we are currently building solar parks with a total capacity of around one gigawatt and have a large project pipeline ahead of us.
