Every roof counts: Elevion Green turns climate protection into a business case with solar systems on commercial roofs

Cleverly utilised space for companies and the climate - this is made possible by Elevion Green, with its digital one-stop solution for photovoltaic (PV) systems on commercial roofs. The principle: businesses calculate the PV potential for their roof online and receive a direct offer from an established, regional installation company. This is made possible by the more than 4,000 employees of the group of companies behind Elevion Green, the Elevion Group, which is active throughout Europe. This means that Elevion Green's new digital infrastructure can be directly transferred to the expertise and manpower required for implementation on site.

Smart use of space for companies and the climate - this is what Elevion Green makes possible with its digital one-stop solution for photovoltaic (PV) systems on commercial roofs. The principle: businesses calculate the PV potential for their roof online and receive a direct offer from an established, regional installation company. This is made possible by the more than 4,000 employees of the group of companies behind Elevion Green, the Elevion Group, which is active throughout Europe. This means that Elevion Green's new digital infrastructure can be transferred directly to the expertise and manpower required for implementation on site.

Empty roofs are untapped potential - for industry and climate protection

Germany's commercial rooftops offer immense photovoltaic potential - an output of 121 gas or coal-fired power plants would be possible, according to an analysis by Garbe Industrial Real Estate, a corporate property specialist. However, only ten per cent of the roof surfaces of large commercial properties have so far been used for photovoltaic systems.

One reason: businesses often shy away from the previously analogue, complex commissioning process. In most cases, an offer is still drawn up with a piece of paper, the process steps are non-transparent and not very well thought out in terms of the company's needs.

Companies benefit from greater energy independence in the event of geopolitical conflicts

PV systems on commercial roofs offer immense advantages: Companies go from being pure electricity consumers to electricity producers that use energy directly themselves or alternatively feed it into the grid. This gives companies greater independence from external factors, such as energy price fluctuations in the event of geopolitical conflicts. In addition to the advantage of decentralised production, self-generated electricity also promises long-term savings potential compared to purchased energy.

Elevion Green would like to support small and medium-sized companies in particular in getting started with solar energy: The offer is aimed at businesses with roof potential of 30 to 999 kWp; this corresponds to roof sizes of around 135 to 4500 square metres, depending on the shape of the roof. The service life of modern solar systems is 30 to 40 years. In some cases, amortisation of the investment can be expected after just seven years.

Elevion Green's aim is to achieve several MWp of projected area, i.e. permanently planned PV installations, before the end of this year.

‘With Elevion Green, we are enabling a digital commissioning process that is faster than before and still ensures a direct line to specialists from the region. This combination of technology and craftsmanship helps both the commissioning companies and the solar companies,’ explains Florian Resatsch, CEO of Elevion Green.

As CMO at Viessmann, Resatsch has already shown that craftsmanship and digital technology can work together successfully. This is why Elevion Green's range of services is to be expanded to include additional energy-related trades. In addition to PV systems, battery storage systems and EV charging options will also be able to be ordered via Elevion Green in the course of 2024 in order to become a complete ‘one-stop shop’ for B2B customers.

Experience meets digitalisation: the Elevion Group and Elevion Green

These ambitious goals are only possible because Elevion Green can draw on the decades of expertise of the companies in the Elevion Group, the European provider of end-to-end solutions for decarbonisation and higher energy efficiency with over 60 specialised companies. Elevion Green provides access to all of these specialists via a central interface and thus offers its customers a process in which everything comes from a single source, from initial digital contact to installation.

The digital process also offers advantages for the Elevion Group companies involved: ‘With Elevion Green, we enable our companies to focus on their core business. We reduce their administrative workload through the central digitalisation of the order process and at the same time ensure more orders through a stronger customer focus,’ says Jaroslav Macek, CEO of the Elevion Group.
