Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 4 September 2026

Elevion Group, a European provider of decarbonisation and energy efficiency solutions and part of CEZ Group, has announced the acquisition of a new cluster of plants in the province of Alessandria.

With this transaction, Elevion Group is expanding its Italian green gas production portfolio with additional capacities, thereby strengthening its position as one of the most dynamic players in the industry. The acquisition is a key component of the Group’s industrial development plan, which aims to reach a total capacity of approximately 70 million standard cubic meters of renewable gas per year by 2030.

In line with the Group's other bioenergy assets in Italy, these plants will be converted to produce advanced biomethane. Once fully operational, the facilities are expected to achieve a combined production capacity of around 5 million standard cubic meters of biomethane annually. Compared to fossil natural gas, this will help avoid the emission of more than 8,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, which roughly corresponds to the annual emissions of 2,000 Italian households.

The project is built on a circular economy model that interlinks the local agricultural value chain, renewable energy generation, and sustainable resource management. The biomethane will be produced from a mix of livestock manure, agricultural biomass, and regionally sourced agro-industrial by-products.

"Our strategy is to unlock the value of existing assets through targeted investments in technological innovation, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability. The conversion to biomethane will further strengthen the contribution of these plants to the region while securing their role as a central infrastructure for the energy recovery of biomass and by-products from the local agro-industrial value chain," said Jaroslav Macek, CEO of Elevion Group.

The agreement was signed with Anna Ventorino, an entrepreneur with a long-standing track record in the renewable energy and bioenergy sectors. She will remain involved in the project through a minority stake in the new corporate structure.

"The entry of Elevion Group represents a significant opportunity to ensure the continuity and further development of these plants. It also enables an accelerated transition to biomethane production while maintaining our strong ties to the region and the agricultural value chains," stated Anna Ventorino.
