BELECTRIC, a member of the Elevion Group, has secured an order for a large solar park near Aarhus in Denmark. With the construction of the 135-megawatt solar power plant for NRGi Renewables, the German company is underpinning its presence in the Danish solar power market.
Following its market entry in Denmark, BELECTRIC has now secured the order for its largest photovoltaic project in the country to date. BELECTRIC is building a 135 MWp solar power plant on an area equivalent to 175 football pitches for its new partner NRGi Renewables, a Danish project developer for renewable energies. The project is located south-east of the town of Kolind near Aarhus (Denmark) and will become a cornerstone of BELECTRIC's presence in the Danish market. From April 2025, more than 220,000 modules will cover the annual electricity needs of over 30,000 households with solar power.
Jakob Bundgaard, CEO of NRGi Renewables, comments: ‘We are very pleased to be working with BELECTRIC on our first solar energy project. With BELECTRIC's extensive experience in the development and construction of solar power plants and NRGi Renewables' local expertise and commitment, we have created a solid foundation for this ambitious project.’
When planning the solar park, the focus was on preserving the dykes and water protection areas on the project site. The concerns of local residents also played a central role. A study was carried out to minimise noise pollution from the inverters. As BELECTRIC attaches great importance to involving and accommodating all affected parties, the results of the study were incorporated into the engineering of the plant.
‘We are delighted to be working with NRGi Renewables on an exciting project of this scale. The fact that we were chosen to build the Kolind solar park speaks volumes about our experience with large-scale projects. We may be a medium-sized company, but we can also go big,’ explains Dr Thorsten Blanke, Managing Director of BELECTRIC.
